DuPont THERMAX™ Sheathing
The THERMAX* system is a rigid foam insulation that can be used for a variety of applications, including concealed and exposed applications as well as above and below grade. Valuable features include:
- A glass-fiber-infused polyisocyanurate foam core that is laminated between aluminum facers on both sides
- Class A fire rating
- Low perm rating for reduced condensation
- Variety of thicknesses (1/2" to 2") and R-values (3.3 to 13.0)
- Square or shiplap edges

One Product, Many Insulation Applications
DuPont THERMAX sheathing can be used in both commercial and residential walls including non-vented crawl spaces, interior walls of metal buildings, and interior basement walls. It can be installed without a thermal barrier and can also be used with hourly rated assemblies. The sheathing’s reinforcing facers contribute to fire resistance and durability, as do its chemical modifiers.
Lightweight and easy to install, DuPont THERMAX can be easily cut using a knife or saw and can be installed on both walls and ceilings including girts, steel studs, block, wood, tilt-up, purlins, trusses and bar joints.
